Do I have to change how I work?
No. Persistent Compute works underneath the apps and terminals you already use. Your shortcuts, folders, and habits stay the same.
How is this different from a cloud devbox?
A devbox is a separate server you log into. Persistent Compute is an extension of your own computer: a private cloud computer, set up with your projects, keys, and settings, paired with your laptop over a secure, encrypted connection that works in both directions. Only your devices can reach it, and your agents keep running when your laptop sleeps.
What happens when my laptop is closed?
Work running on your cloud computer keeps going, including scheduled jobs and automations. When you open your laptop again, your terminals and sessions are right where you left them.
Will Persistent Compute slow down my laptop?
No. Heavy agent work runs on your cloud computer, so your laptop stays fast and cool.
Which apps and computers does Persistent Compute work with?
Persistent Compute runs on Mac today, and works underneath the apps and terminals you already use, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Claude Desktop.
Can my team use Persistent Compute?
Yes. Invite your teammates, and each person gets their own cloud computer. You can remove someone's access at any time.
Is my work private?
Yes. Your cloud computer is isolated from other customers, your connection is encrypted, and your work is never used to train AI models.
